A significant portion of McConnell Van Pelt, LLC’s practice and expertise is in the area of health law. We provide various legal services to health care institutions and medical practice groups.

MVP attorneys have defended hospitals, physicians, other licensed health care providers, long term care facilities and managed health care groups against various claims including professional negligence. Over the years, members of our firm have represented the majority of primary insurers and self-insured health care entities in Colorado and elsewhere.

Representing clients throughout Colorado and Wyoming, we have successfully mediated, arbitrated and tried numerous medical and hospital malpractice cases. We have been instrumental in establishing case law favorable to the defense of such cases in both state and federal appellate courts.

Additionally, we serve as a resource to our clients in providing risk management and quality assurance advice. Members of our firm make presentations to hospitals, long term care facilities and their insures on a variety of topics, including peer review, EMTALA, confidentiality of medical records, documentation, federal and state legislation in health law, administrative/licensing issues, and the anatomy of a medical malpractice lawsuit. Our attorneys have presented “Mock Trials” and “Mock Depositions” to health care professionals throughout the state.
